The man according to size and name ‘Doddanna’ the proud of Kannada cinema was at the ‘Belli Hejje’ organized by Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy at Gandhi Bhavan in Bengaluru.

Known for straightforward nature, good knowledge on mythological and historical topics Doddanna urged the Kannada film makers to get good scripts for the film instead of going in for action based films with ‘Machchu and Longu’.

Doddanna strongly urged that we should change over from our culture of making films. Recalling his days of going to cinema shooting Doddanna stated that it was like going to a marriage celebration. The close affinity was so good. Today it has changed completely and everyone live separate with five star hotel rooms, Caravans etc.

Even in social life when a pot was needed women folks inquire with a few shops. When it comes to making films with crores of rupees, the producer do not make such test lamented Doddanna.

In the days of Puttannaji and Siddalingaiaji the new crops in cinema field were given opportunity. Today scenario opts for actors from other languages and provides five star treatment. The producers of today do not want pure Kannada.

The business side of ‘Dubbing’ is very harmful. The moral values, interesting subjects would definitely bring audience in Kannada felt Doddanna. There is no dearth for novels. Our directors and producers are not picking such subjects. In Northern Karnataka there are many deserving talents with rich experience. The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy should focus on such talents to bring them to limelight observed Doddanna.

Doddanna, secretary of Kannada film artists association stated that a training school in acting is a separate wing in the new building that is coming up. It will be disciplined one he disclosed.

KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu, Rockline Venkatesh, SV Rajendra Singh Babu, Smt Doddanna, Dr Sunder Raj, NR Vishukumar and others were present at ‘Belli Hejje’ of Doddanna. The photo exhibition was also part of the evening.
